The Cox Connect app for iOS and Google Android places all your Cox services right at your fingertips and lets you take the lead in managing your account. You can check Billing details, your internet account, TV and other Phone tools directly on your app.
The UI is well laid out, and you can see all the options that you need to use on the left dashboard with your account name at the top.
The UI on both iOS and Android app is crisp, with a pleasant design although some of the icons are too small especially if you are using a smaller screen. The buttons are intuitive and straightforward. 9/10.
The iOS and Google Play app for Cox Connect app affords you most of the functions that you’d get on your Cox Web account. You can check your billings, see your account information and go through your calls and voicemails. You may also browse your TV listings, set DVD recordings, find the nearest Cox Solutions store, locate Cox WiFi hotspots and make account payments.
From the home dashboard, access various options such as WiFi hotspots, TV Listings, Store Locator, Phone Tools and Settings among others. Each of these options, when pressed, leads you to different screens where you can enter your preferences.
The latest update offers a variety of bug repairs for crashes when checking phone line details, chat agent, phone tools list and a variety of other fixes.
This app is free to download, and there are no in-app purchases. It is compatible with iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch running iOS 9.0 or later and devices running Android 5.0 or higher. 6/10.
Though I experienced several challenges with this app, some of the recent installs and the latest version fixed some of those issues. Some problems I faced included poor communication with the Cox server, faulty fingerprint sensor, a billing system that didn’t work most of the time and really slow app. I thought it was just a problem with the APK download but my iPhone also experienced the same issues with the app.
Despite that, I managed to uninstall and reinstall the app and some of the functionalities work just fine now. The app is quite intuitive, however. You’ll also get fewer features than with your online Cox account. 4/10.
For users with a Cox account, this would be a beneficial tool if only the developers would put a bit more effort in making its functionality and working better. The app is too faulty, and while sometimes it works perfectly, it is still a bit inconvenient when you spend half your time fixing issues instead of actually using the app. I do give props to the developers for offering regular fixes. This is an app for all Android devices and their iOS counterparts too so everyone is able to use it.
I’d recommend this app to Cox users only because there isn’t an alternative app and if browsing online is more of an inconvenience than using the app.
